Self portrait Movement
I would like to give you a quick overview of the first edition of Mothers United Moment (MUM).
MUM 2022 will be held from 10 to 14 November this year, and feature 100 mothers as chief delegates, including Olympians, Air Force officers, sportswomen, doctors, and other notable people from across 31 countries – a cohort that I, Shikha Khanna have personally selected and brought together in an upcoming coffee table book called 100 self portrait 100 dreams . This book will be launched at the MUM 2022 The 100 mothers will be accompanied by a larger gathering of supporters, who together will enable MUM 2022 to serve two objectives:
First, as a platform spotlighting the uniquely incredible strengths, capabilities and perspectives that mothers alone possess. These are qualities taken for granted and thus sometimes undervalued in how much impact they can have on people, communities, and causes.
Second, to act as a launchpad to co-create real-world opportunities to leverage mothers’ innate, powerful qualities. MUM 2022 will start an ecosystem of mutual support and societal admiration to establish mothers as entrepreneurs and changemakers who take on universal issues that mothers face.
Across the five days, participants will come together in events curated to promote collaboration, networking, and dialogue – vital to drive MUM 2022’s sense of collective purpose.
The event will promote a warmer holistic vision of the future – that there are opportunities at every corner and mutually prosperous futures can be sown and raised the best way possible – by nurturing them together.
MUM 2022’s goal is to place mothers at the centre of an inclusive, international ecosystem of mutual support, social change, and enterprise.
Your support will enable us to create this transformational moment of empowerment that will not only benefit mothers, but the many people whose lives they will touch.
To conclude, I’d like to leave you with a quote that has deeply inspired me:
“Only mothers can think of the future because they give birth to it.”
